Food & Koha for the Descendants

We’re looking forward to seeimg you at the upcoming gathering of The Descendants, at St Patrick’s College, Kilbirnie, Wellington, Sat 6th – Sun 7th Jan 2018.

Food

Lunch on Saturday and Sunday

You will need to bring your own packed lunch, snacks and drink for both Saturday and Sunday; there aren’t too many places near the school to buy food. There is a hot water supply in the hall, and we will provide tea and coffee, as well as paper cups, plates etc.

Dinner on Saturday evening

There will be a concert in the hall on Saturday evening. You are welcome to bring your own food for the evening meal, however for those who are interested, we have organized an Indian meal to enjoy during the concert. This includes a nan bread per person, rice, and a choice of a vege or meat main plus dessert. The cost is $20 per person.

We plan to order the dinner on the Saturday morning, and will collect payment then from those who are interested. Please bring your own drinks. Please note that there will be no alcohol provided at the venue.

‘Koha’ / Donation

On another note, to pay for the weekend event, we are asking for a koha/donation of $20 per person. This is strictly to cover the $3000 costs for the hall, cemetery speaker and sundry expenses. Of course this is an expensive time of the year, and for those who will be financially stretched, please give what you can. Likewise, we would appreciate a larger koha for those who can afford it.

You can pay the koha electronically or at the event; if you prefer the first option, please email Nicholas O’Flaherty (nicholaso@camino.co.nz) with your details, and the koha you would like to give; receipts will be provided at the event. Nicholas’ bank account details are: 06 0158 0072020 00.

This wonderful occasion is to celebrate our shared heritage as a collective family. Let’s help each other to do just that!

Many thanks & sincere wishes for a family, fun &peaceful Christmas,

The organizing committee.
